Hey Reader, Full disclosure: I think the whole “hack” thing is stupid. That being said, we’ve all got to try to beat the algo, so I’m going with it! This hack is something I came up with to deal with some ongoing issues I’ve had with my right shoulder. I’ve struggled for a long time to get it out of it’s “rolled forward” position, and get it fully seated in the joint so that I can get good a lat and tricep connection on that side. I’ve recently returned to training straps and straight arm skills in general, and that has only highlighted the disconnect I’ve struggled with. I take my straps lessons with a friend, and she does a remarkable job of being able to see and give me the incredibly subtle micro-corrections I need in order to get that shoulder to work good, but what do I do the rest of the time when I don’t have her there to poke me in the back of the shoulder? And this is what I’ve come up with! You can add this mini-band “hack” to a lot of different aerial conditioning exercises, and in this video I breakdown the set-up and share a few options, but I’m sure there are so many more! You should play around with it and let me know what you figure out! Check it out and let me know what you think. If you've got thoughts or questions about this, I'd really love to hear them! Just reply to this email and we can chat! Love, Lauren |
