Hey Reader, I’m not going to lie, I’m really struggling right now. Running an online business means that I have to spend time online, and currently that’s a pretty challenging place to be. And not only that, I’m actively trying to sell stuff right now. FML. So, in-between my doom scrolling, shock and horror over the latest terrifying thing said by a politician who thinks me and my loved ones should be rounded up and shot, despair over a continued genocide, and a heartwarming video about a rescued kitten, I have to try to figure out how to write sales copy that makes signing up for a course about aerial theory exciting. FML, again. But here’s the thing about life: it just keeps happening! And despite me wanting to crawl into a hole to ignore the stupidest timeline that we seem to be stuck in, I keep going. We all do. We don’t have much of a choice; bills still need to be paid, dinner needs to be made, laundry needs to be washed. Despite the ever more uncertain future, we wake up every morning and live each day, dealing with life’s unending details. And, hopefully, finding and celebrating moments of joy throughout each day. This is what’s keeping me going. The joy. I am holding onto my joy with a white knuckled fist, and fuck if I’m going to let anyone take it from. So I’m appreciating my family, my stupid cats, my movement practice, and my work. For me, my movement practice is a respite from daily life. A break from the stress and fear, a time to quiet these feelings of uncertainty that I can’t help but feel. It’s a time where I feel free, and powerful. It’s a time when I can focus fully on myself. And this is what I want to share with my students, more than any skills, more than technique. The skills to create and embody their own practice, and find their own freedom within it. I have been gifted a career that is truly a calling to me. And there is nothing that I find more fulfilling than seeing my students take the tools I’ve shared with them and do their thing! We can all use a little extra support right now, and my work is the best thing I have to offer. And while I can’t give it away for free (mama’s got bills to pay!), here’s what I can do: I’ve made a bunch of free resources over the years. I’m going to put links to all of them in one place, as well as links to particularly popular or helpful blog posts. So if you appreciate my approach to aerial training but don’t have the financial resources to work with me directly, you can still get some (hopefully) helpful stuff. And I’m going to extend the early bird price for Aerial for Nerds for the whole launch of this cycle. That is $250 off the price of the course, which means you’re getting the whole course AND 3.5 hours of 1:1 coach with me for around $450. I'll be sharing the coupon code with anyone who applies for the course. It’s hard not to feel completely powerless these days, at least it is for me. I can’t change any of the terrifying shit that seems to be happening every day, but I can do what I can to support my greater community, and this is what I’m good at so this is what I’ve got. I will be continuing to lowkey promote Aerial for Nerds over the next week or two, so do expect to see some more emails about it, but I just don't have the gumption for a hardcore sales cycle right now. I hope you're getting what you need from your life and your community right now, we're all in this together! Love, Lauren |
