Movement revolution?


Hey Reader,

When you start learning how to sell things online, one of the things that you learn is that you need to offer solutions.


What is your ideal client's problem? How can you solve it? And that’s what you sell.


Seems easy enough, right?


Narrator: It isn’t, in fact, that easy.


I really struggle with this sort of framework because the problem-solution model is just not how I think about my work, probably to my professional detriment! I don’t really enjoy writing programs, and I’m very public about my distaste for class plans, etc.


And no shade to those that offer programming and love a plan. Those are skills I wish I was better at! But it’s not my jam, and I’ve got to lean into what I’m good at.


And what I love to do, and where I absolutely shine, is in creating opportunities to experience.


To experience movement in a way you hadn’t thought about before, opportunities to connect with something internally you didn’t know existed. Giving people a place to conceptualize and internalize movement in a way that they didn’t have any frame of reference for.


My “ideal client” is a curious mover: someone who has a question, a problem, an idea, and comes to me to explore it.


And my solution is to follow that thread with them to see where it goes, to share my observations with them, and help them figure out what they need to do to find those answers.


I’m really not sure how to market that! (and if you have any suggestions, please send them my way 😅)


I imagine at this point you’re thinking “okay, marketing is hard. What’s the point and why did you send me this email?”


Whenever I offer an online course, I send out a feedback form to everyone so they can share what worked for them, what could be better, and if they have any nice things to say about me.


Yesterday, I got this feedback from someone who took my Aerial for Nerds course:

And, ironically, I got this as I’m offering an online anatomy class. What a coinkydink!

The Experience Anatomy course isn’t something that’s offering solutions to a problem, necessarily. Or it might be offering a lot of solutions to problems you didn’t realize you had!


In my work, I work with all sorts of different people. Athletes, recreational aerialists, retirees, and more. But in almost all of these people, I see the same things cropping up:


  • Dysfunctional breathing patterns
  • Pelvic floor issues
  • Unstable hips
  • Wonky shoulders


I end up teaching them all the same basic concepts to not only address those issues, but also to understand how they’re all related. And that you can’t address one part without addressing the rest!


In this class series, I’m going to be teaching about all these common issues, what’s happening anatomically, and exercises to help you feel and understand what it might mean to move in a different way.


I can’t guarantee that I’m going to revolutionize your movement practice, but I’m definitely going to create an opportunity for you to experience movement in a new way.


And I’m pretty darn good at that!
